How to read a Robodex price
Two pages can both say SO-101, SO-ARM101, or LeRobot and still be different piles of parts. Read the group first, then the tags, then the note under the price.
Sorting stays inside a group. The cheapest full kit does not get beaten by a prints-only shelf price from another shop.
The groups
01
Motors and parts lists
Servos, boards, and power. No printed arm and no camera. You still fabricate or buy the plastic.
02
Prints included, no camera
The plastic is in the price. A camera is not. Hiwonder’s higher variants add a camera — those are not this row.
03
Camera included, not assembled
The box includes a camera and still needs building. An assembled camera kit stays in the next group.
04
Assembled
Someone else built it. A bag of servos is a different purchase, even when the project name matches.
05
Follower arm only
One arm, not a leader-plus-follower teleop pair. Where assembly is known, it is on the row.
06
One shop, several configs
The number is the lowest price on the page. It is not the price of a full kit.
07
Related, not an SO-101 arm
Nearby gear. Kept out of the arm groups so a mobile base does not look like a cheap arm.
Same name, different box
These are current rows from the comparison. 14 listings are on the board.
TheRobotStudio
$121.94
SO-101 follower parts list
Motors and parts lists. Follower-only slice of the same parts list. Still no prints and no camera — and not a teleop pair.
TheRobotStudio
$229.88
SO-101 leader + follower parts list
Motors and parts lists. Bill of materials for 12× STS3215 servos, boards, a PSU, cables, and clamps. No printed parts and no camera. You buy the parts yourself.
Seeed Studio
$277.99
SO-ARM101 Pro motors kit
Motors and parts lists. Motors kit only: no 3D-printed parts and no camera. The shop page does not say whether this is one arm or a leader-follower pair.
WowRobo
$199
SO-ARM101 package 1 — prints + 12 servos
Prints included, no camera. Prints plus 12 servos. No camera in this package. Twelve servos is the usual leader-plus-follower count. Seller claims US duties are prepaid — that is their claim, not a landed-cost quote.
Robonine Labs
$349
SO-ARM101 leader + follower kit
Camera included, not assembled. Unassembled leader and follower with a camera, ArUco markers, and objects. $349 here is a camera kit, not a motors-only bill of materials.
RobotEd
from CHF 59.95
SO-101 shop — full kit, electronics, or prints
One shop, several configs. One shop selling a full kit, electronics, and prints-only. CHF 59.95 is the lowest price found, not the price of a full kit. Switzerland and Liechtenstein only.
Words that change the number
From and a range mean the page did not publish one configuration at one price. PartaBot’s follower is $249–$299. Komatachi’s assembled follower is €349–€369.
Price shown is the figure on the page when variants exist. Hiwonder lists DIY, Starter, Standard, and Advanced. Cameras are only on the higher two, so the shown price stays in the prints group.
VAT included is called out on Komatachi. A US list price usually still has tax added later, and almost every row still excludes shipping. WowRobo’s “US duties prepaid” line is the seller’s claim.
Unknown stock means the check did not prove the item could be bought that day. Sold-out rows stay up, because a restock is the useful event.
The parts pages are a different shelf: one servo, one board, one camera, or one supply. If a check cannot read the page, the row keeps the last price and says the check is stale. RobotShop, Amazon, and AliExpress do not allow an automatic price check, so those rows stay at the last price a person confirmed.
Twelve servos is the usual leader-plus-follower count, six per arm. One follower is not a teleop pair. If a page never said how many arms the price buys, the row says so instead of guessing.
